Back in May, I took a few photos for the band Jail Bird Jokers, to be used as their album cover.
The record still seems to be in production / delayed; I’d love to see what they ended up producing with the images taken. Guess I’ll have to wait.

One Gear for the Festive 500

Considering the other hemisphere gets freezing temperatures and  horrible conditions for their Rapha Festive 500, I decided to tackle the challenge by only riding bikes with a single gear; in most cases running fixed at mid-seventy gear inches.

We travelled far and wide within Victoria, discovering new routes all the way up the the border to NSW. There were hills, headwinds, dusty plains, grassy valleys, and long stretches of roads. Friends became cycling buddies, cycling buddies became friends.

There were times when the bike wasn’t the best choice for the terrain, but whether it was dirt or climbs we faced, it had to be completed. Upon the final 50km ride, my legs were entirely destroyed. I sat straight down, the count being at 509km.

The Rapha 500 is a brilliant idea. Next year, I’ll add in a variable geared bike or two. But I’ll always be proud of the fact that my first ever completed #festive500 was on single speed.

Racing time.
It’s time for racing.
